Ask Dr. Rye: What does having chicklet teeth mean?
What does having chicklet teeth mean?
Imagine a piece of gum out of an old gum machine. The kind of gum that is square and flat. This gum piece was called a “Chicklet”. Teeth are not square naturally, They have a range of dimensions that fit something called The Golden Proportion, or The Divine Proportion. The whole smile fits this proportion, in many different ways. Fascinating, really, that when we think there is beauty in something, that something often has dimensions that fall within this Divine Proportion. Davinci called it the Divine Proportion because it is found all over the natural world. It is in the dimensions of the face, the body, our fingers, tree limbs, a conch shell, the orbits of the planets (except Earth!), butterfly wings, the dimensions of the Parthenon, and in many architectural designs.
